Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera. Italian luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini always brings the goods when it comes to power, speed and glamour. The 2013 Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera is no exception. The extra weight from the unnecessarily verbose badge probably offsets some of the savings wrought through the extensive use of carbon fiber.

The Lamborghini Gallardo is more than just a typical fast car. This is a vehicle that has made a constant mark in automotive history. It is fast, loud, analogue and very rewarding. 0-124mph in 10.2sec, which is very fast, and it feels capable of meeting the claim. This is an LP plus seven percent. The chassis is sharper, it does change direction better and the motor is supreme, but the standard car is so good, you’ll need to be an addict to pay the extra.

Even though it has awesome exterior and interior looks that would give other supercars a run for their money, it also excels in terms of performance. The car has been completely re-bushed and runs different spring and damper rates to the standard LP and the 2WD Balboni. The transmission is identical - eGear paddles is the norm, but you can have a manual if you wish. The rear screen and quarter-lights are plastic, the other glass is thinner; the sill extensions, boot-lid and seat shells are all carbon. Oddly, it’s the fixed-back seats that save the most weight.

The new luxury SUV Range Rover Evoque 2014

Range Rover is a set of luxury vehicles produced by Land Rover, a British company which is actually a subsidiary of the Jaguar Land Rover which in turn is a subsidiary of the Indian Car maker Tata Motors since 2008. The Evoque, which stands at just 1.6 metres high, Range Rover has done just that. Once you’ve driven it however you will utterly understand why. It is an aero-dynamically correct version of the Freelander. The production vehicle is similar to the Land Rover LRX concept, which was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008. The Evoque has been received positively by the automotive press for retaining the features, amenities, and off-road capabilities of a traditional Range Rover in a smaller package. Land Rover sold nearly 88,000 units of the Evoque in its first year of production.

Inside and behind the wheel, it is immediately clear why Range Rover has billed the Evoque as its most luxurious model to date. This SUV is amazing and comfortable to sit in. The dashboard, instrument panel and fascia mid-section are all smooth to touch, with a hidden stowaway pocket discreetly tucked behind the control unit. There is new dynamism and a new feel to the inside of the car. The interiors look like a Jaguar which is becoming a standard due to the JLR partnership. The 8-inch touch screen is easy to use and comes with dual-view technology – where the driver can see one thing while the passenger watches another. The navigation, radio options and media connectivity are all without flaw, but it is the Bluetooth connection that really stands out. Making a phone call through the voice activation is seamless and the swift progression from playing music on your phone to receiving a call and back to your playlist is impressive.  The adjustable steering is one in which everyone can fit into a comfortable position in. The plastics, leather and the textures are very commendable especially at the price range. The three door variant- the Evoque gives special headroom for adults.

The Evoque uses a 2.0-litre Si4 turbocharged engine producing 240 horsepower, sending the car from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The six-speed transmission is smooth, though it stays in first gear slightly longer than you want it to. With permanent 4WD and no stop-start technology available on automatic Evoques yet, expect real world fuel consumption to be in the mid to high thirties for this SD4 version, leading to a workable range of well over 400 miles from the 60 litre tank. The only downside to this new diesel motor is it seems to suffer from distinct turbo lag at lower rpm, so it's best to keep it bubbling above 2500rpm if you want to make decent progress.

Mercedes-Benz CLA250

Front-wheel drive Mercedes are commonplace around the globe. The CLA, though, marks the first front-driver to ever reach American soil. The all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 compact sedan, the company expands into areas that may surprise people. This is a totally new model. It's also the first front-wheel-drive Mercedes sold in the United States, a feature that combined with a little torque monster of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine helps it get 38 mpg on the highway, compared to 31 mpg for the less powerful four-cylinder C250.  For example, this is the cheapest new car sold in the U.S. to wear a 3-pointed star, the famed badge of Mercedes-Benz. However, the idea of "4-door coupe" has its roots in the bigger Mercedes-Benz CLS, where the roof traces a similarly sleek arc from the top of the sharply angled windshield down to the trunk lid.
At 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, the CLA250 is also more powerful, a bit quicker and has a larger truck. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the CLA250 at 26 miles per gallon city/38 mpg hwy and 30 mpg in combined city and highway driving. That comes courtesy of a 4-cylinder engine that uses twin turbochargers to coax 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter displacement. Such a thrust-to-thirst ratio is impressive, helped by a start/stop function in the CLA's Eco mode, plus the 7-speed transmission. With Eight airbags, 4-wheel ABS, Remote anti-theft alarm system, Emergency interior trunk release, Emergency braking preparation, Tire pressure monitoring, Brake drying system, driver-attention assist and collision-prevention assist add up to a high level of standard safety equipment that gives you an awesome driving experience.
This is a great engine, punchy enough to reach highway speeds in short order. 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood. Power comes on in a smooth, linear fashion as the throttle pedal heads toward the floor. Gear changes from the 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission are similarly silky. This is so much better than a CVT, which is cheaper technology, but usually noisy and slow to respond. The driver can put it in D and forget about it, or use the steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles whenever the desire to be more engaged takes hold. Riding on optional 18-in wheels means a smaller and therefore less pliant tire sidewall, which only adds to the firm ride. The company might think that young target buyers prefer a stiffer, sportier setup, but Generation Y has to deal with potholes and rough road surfaces like everyone else. For everyday driving, 17-in wheels could be a better bet.

Subaru WRX STI

Subaru WRX STI 2014 powered by 296bhp version of the 2.5-litre boxer engine. This is a reduction of about 20bhp on the standard version of the previous STI, but is still enough to get the car to 62mph in 5.2sec. There is a major change in the suspension and handling, which it claims will offer a more composed ride and deliver more feel through the steering. Most interesting thing is the first examples will be delivered in May, although there's a two-month waiting list, so unless you've already got your name down you'll have to wait until the summer to get your hands on one.

With previous versions, the WRX STI has four-wheel drive. However, this time round it gets a torque-vectoring set-up that can shuffle power between wheels on the same axle for improving stability. With the C.Diff set to distribute more power to the rear axle, you can drift round corners with relative ease. The STI is a very forgiving piece of machinery. Including the standard 18-inch alloy wheels as you expect for a sports saloon but the suspension isn't entirely adept at dealing with broken surfaces.

Always remember when you are driving with your 2014 Subaru WRX STI, you need to keep the engine spinning at more than 3000rpm to get meaningful performance from the 2.5-litre turbocharged engine under on its hood, which invariably means having to make full use of the six-speed gearbox on a regular basis. The gearshift itself feels slightly better than in the previous WRX. The power of Subaru WRX STI is delivered in a strong and linear fashion. This will get you to 62mph in 5.2 seconds, although it doesn't feel that fast. The standard SI-Drive dial allows you to choose one of three ECU settings; Sports Sharp improves engine response at lower revs and is the one you'll need if you want to get the best from the STI when tackling a series of bends.

Previous appearance of the WRX has always fallen flat on interior quality and design, and the new STI is no exception. Reasonable soft-touch plastics top the dashboard but there are still plenty of brittle plastics further down. The seats are covered with leather and Alcantara, there's air-con, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls, Bluetooth, a USB socket and 60/40 split/folding rear seats. It’s a great car. It turns everyone's head and stands out among any and all cars on the road. The interior is awesome. Exterior style is hot and is a show stopper.

Kia is powered by an all-aluminum, 3.3-liter V-6 making 293 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission under the hood. It’s considered adding all-wheel drive for snowy states but ultimately decided front drive was sufficient. The company also explored dropping the Optima’s optional turbocharged four (it makes about the same power) into the Cadenza but decided it didn’t fit the car’s relaxed vibe. The six certainly isn’t any less relaxed when it comes time to hustle. It feels far stronger than its ho-hum specs suggest, and power builds linearly toward the redline near where peak horsepower and torque live. We hit 60 mph 0.2 second quicker (in 6.2 seconds) than in the last turbocharged Optima we tested. That car was 236 pounds lighter and packed more torque. Our observed 25-mpg fuel economy also bettered the Optima turbo’s by 5 mpg and fell right between the EPA’s 19-mpg city and 28-mpg highway estimates.

For the 2014 model year Optima has freshened styling and a revised equipment list. The Luxury package offers a panoramic sunroof, adaptive HID headlights, Nappa leather seats, a seven-inch digital gauge cluster, heated rear seats and steering wheel, and a power rear sunshade. The Tech bundle adds 19-inch aluminum wheels, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, an electronic parking brake, a hydrophobic windshield and front windows, and adaptive cruise control that can bring the Cadenza to a halt and automatically accelerate if the pause lasts fewer than two or three seconds. Not only is the engine impressive, it has also won Motor Trend's Vehicle of the Year. Even though the car looks and feels good, it is something you will have to experience. It is a phenomenal vehicle.

Acura MDX

The 2014 Acura MDX remains one of the more enjoyable luxury crossovers to drive. The Acura MDX has been completely redesigned for this year. Improved fuel economy, a higher-quality and quieter interior, and a new control interface. This midsize luxury SUV a more confident feel on the open road. The 2014 model also has a more forgiving, less busy ride quality than previous models.

Powered by 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, and though it offers 10 less horsepower than the 3.7-liter it replaces, it boasts more low-end torque thanks to direct fuel injection technology. Acura says the 2014 MDX gets from zero to 60 mph half a second quicker than previous models, due largely to a 275-pound curb weight reduction. The new engine brings fuel economy gains too, and AWD models in particular offer a 17 percent improvement in combined mpg. And for the first time ever, Acura's midsize crossover is also available with two-wheel drive, which gives buyers in mild climates a less expensive (and more fuel-efficient) entry point into MDX ownership. EPA-estimated fuel economy with front-wheel drive is 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.

Nissan SSC

The all new “Nissan SSC”. They call it the SSC, for Sport Sedan Concept, but you can just call it a preview of the next Maxima (the so-called "four-door sports car"). Officially, the SSC is a design exercise intended to demonstrate the next generation of Nissan design, but expect the new Maxima to be a toned-down version of this car. A number of current Nissan styling cues can be seen in the SSC, but with futuristic twists. The boomerang headlights and taillights are still there, but they're much more exaggerated and full of LEDs. Nissan's new signature grille pumps up the V-motion graphic you might recognize from the new Rogue. Sharply creased fenders are reminiscent of the GT-R, as is the slim roof sitting on blacked-out A-pillars. A slice removed from the C-pillar recalls the recent Nissan IDx Freeflow concepts, while the overall shape isn't far removed from Infiniti's rear-wheel-drive sport sedans. The concept rides on 21-inch wheels with V-shaped spokes backed by big brakes with slotted rotors. The overall effect is aggressive, sporty, and just futuristic enough.

Interior design, this continues to be futuristic, but with a production-friendly layout. The gauges and infotainment system are translucent blue displays with silver trim, and the words, numbers, and images appear to hang in space. Blue accent lighting around the interior complements the displays. Controls are simple, uncluttered, and appear nearly production-ready. The dash, doors, center console, and seats are wrapped in beautifully stitched leather. Look closely at the SSC's details and you'll see this car isn't a pure concept. The body is a little wild, but it has real headlights, taillights, wheels, and door mirrors, all of which are usually sacrificed on the altar of cool when designing a concept. Inside, it has production-looking seats and real controls such as turn signal and wiper stalks, which again tend to get left off concepts. These pieces even look as if they could've been pulled from a production car.

The unanswered question is whether the 2015 Nissan Maxima production car will offer any power train options. Nissan says the SSC is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces at least 300 hp. The concept also has a sport-tuned continuously variable transmission and performance dampers. Currently, the Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 making 290 hp and driving the front wheels through a CVT with paddle shifters. When we tested a 2013 Maxima 3.5 SV in a comparison against the Hyundai Azera and Toyota Avalon, the Nissan accelerated from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds. In the comparison, though we found the 2013 Maxima showing its age and lacking in interior space, the car was "curiously fun to corner" and we even found the CVT to be "very impressive."

For practical reasons, such as cost, it's unlikely the SSC is anything but a front-drive car, no matter how much Infiniti design it borrows. A V-6 engine and CVT are likely, but don't rule out a turbocharged four-cylinder and perhaps even a hybrid drivetrain for fuel economy and emissions reasons. The Maxima may have placed third in the comparison against the Azera and Avalon, but judging by the SSC, company is looking forward to discovering what the next-generation Maxima will have to offer.

2014 Nissan VERSA

The Nissan VERSA NOTE SR, it really is all about appearances. A redesigned front fascia features darkened headlight surrounds, chrome accents, and standard fog lights. An SR-exclusive grille, side sills, distinctive rear spoiler, and sport mirrors complete the aggressive new look. No matter the body style, the Versa has a tall roof line, which allows for a huge amount of interior space. In VERSA there is ample legroom, even in the rear seats where 6-footers can fit comfortably. Cargo space is similarly impressive, with the sedan's trunk bigger than several larger cars.

We took the Best-In-Class Roominess of the 2014 and gave it a sportier look. The Note's hatchback is even bigger and more practical. Inside, both offer a wealth of comfort and convenience items. Antilock brakes, stability control, air-conditioning and a stereo are also all standard, while niceties like Bluetooth and a rearview camera are available. Your music, news, apps, maps, SiriusXM satellite radio, and the Rearview Monitor are all accessed through the 5” color display. Streaming audio through Bluetooth, a Hands-free text messaging assistant, USB connection, and the versatile Divide-N-Hide adjustable floor all are in here.

VERSA comes with Z-inspired steering wheel, charcoal suede-like seats and door panels with contrasting orange stitching and accents, and a redesigned center dash in glossy piano black and chrome. An SR-exclusive grille, side sills, distinctive rear spoiler, and sport mirrors complete the aggressive new look.

2014 Nissan VERSA with 1.6-liter four-cylinder that produces just 109 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque, the Note isn't going to be winning any drag races. However, it is highly efficient when optioned with the available continuously variable transmission (CVT), which helps the hatchback return 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2014

The all new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with the most advanced technology. It’s restyled in and out, with a smoother exterior shape, rounded front and rear fascias, and a slightly odd printed-circuit-inspired grille.

The upscale GT comes with a 3.0-liter six, a six-speed automatic, and standard all-wheel drive.  Available 18" alloy wheels, immediately makes a statement with eye-catching styling and modern design. It can hit 0 to 62 miles per hour in 11.0 seconds. It also gives a maximum speed of 106 miles per hour.

Outlander comes with stability control and seven airbags, including one to protect the driver's knees. Top models get some even more sophisticated safety measures, such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and a collision-mitigation system.
